UNIC AND THE WORLD METHODOLOGICAL CENTER FOR COMPLIANCE - THE BASEL INSTITUTE - AND OTHER COLLECTIVE ACTION INITIATIVES SHARE THE EXPERTISE IN COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATION

One of the world's recognized methodological centers for compliance - the Basel Institute - in its recent report: “Local certification through Collective Action: an innovative approach to anti-corruption compliance and due diligence”  highlighted local certification of a company’s (including SMEs) anti-corruption compliance standards through a Collective Action. The report analysed a selection of Collective Action initiatives from different counties with certification schemes. In particular, the UNIC’s expertise and experience  ofwas noted and included in the recommendations.

The paper ends with six recommendations for practitioners seeking to raise levels of Anti- Corruption compliance through a local certification scheme. Application of the Collective Action approach recognized as one of the measures which increase trust, incentives and develop a supportive environment for local business.

UNIC's partnership with similar collective action initiatives all over the world, as well as the exchange of expertise with the world's leading compliance centers, is one of the strategic priorities of the Network. The Ukrainian experience in providing business integrity through certification  attracted special attention from possible investors and international companies since Collective Action Initiatives verification or certification is considered as a reliable proven source of ethical and compliant behaviour  of the local companies.. Thus the Ukrainian Network of Integrity and Compliance plans to continue strengthening its expert capacity on international level. .

In addition to the UNIC certification based on international standards, the Network offers to its members a free of charge pre-certification coaching package - an independent screening of the company's compliance system with detailed recommendations/roadmap for improving compliance policies and procedures.
