As part of UNIC's support, it was a great pleasure to prepare a special training for the state-owned State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety.

The training "Compliance and Conflict of Interest" consisted of three blocks, which highlighted the role of "the tone from the top" in the formation of ethical compliance culture, conflict of interest in international standards and legislation, practical cases of conflict of interest, and its settlement.

The training began with an inspiring conversation-discussion from Igor SHEVCHENKO, Director of the State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety, Bohdan VOLCHOK, Director of PJSC SKF Ukraine, and Antonina PRUDKO, Head of the UNIC Secretariat.

  • Igor SHEVCHENKO, Director of the State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety

"The results of implementing the complete system are not immediately visible, it is a long-term prospect, and we will definitely feel them. The advantages of working with Western partners are particularly significant, where the presence of the same European approaches as, in particular, zero tolerance for corruption are essential. The company's compliance culture helps our company both in tenders and in joint work within European projects".

  • Bohdan VOLCHOK, Director of PJSC СКФ Україна/SKF Ukraine

"Effective compliance in the company has a positive effect on business, employees, and society. The world is losing about 2 billion euros because there is a certain corruption component in doing business. Each employee loses about 7% of their funds due to this corruption and other dishonest components. Today, compliance and responsible business conduct are basic and fundamental requirements for potential cooperation with contractors and new customers. So it is an opportunity to have new consumers and conquer new markets. And we are very pleased that such public sector front-runners are working to improve compliance".

We thank our partner State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety to all speakers and participants for their inspiration and active involvement. We hope that such training for our participants and partners will help strengthen the internal culture of integrity and implement effective compliance practices.

You can get acquainted with the training, in particular with the participation of Yuriy Voytsitsky (Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine), Olga Shenk (CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang - Ukraine), and Hennadiy Sukhoviy (independent anti-corruption expert), by following the link:
