Event "State-owned companies in transformation: corporate governance, compliance and institutional resilience"
We invite you to the event "State-owned companies in transformation: corporate governance, compliance and institutional resilience", which will take place on 8 June in Kyiv as part of UNIC’s Business Integrity Month. The event’s host partners are NEC ‘Ukrenergo’ and the S. Nizhny Kyiv School of Public Administration.
The reform of corporate governance in state-owned companies has long since gone beyond formal changes to legislation. Today, it is a matter of management effectiveness, transparency, accountability and trust in the public sector.
Representatives from government bodies, state-owned companies, international organisations, the expert community and the companies themselves will discuss the practical experience of reforms, the role of compliance, and the challenges faced by state-owned companies during the transformation process.
The discussion will focus on:
• the role of supervisory boards, management and the state in ensuring effective governance;
• compliance as a tool for risk management and fostering a culture of integrity;
• the independence of the compliance function and its interaction with senior management and supervisory boards;
• practical case studies of compliance implementation in state-owned companies.
The event will be moderated by Lana Sinichkina, Chair of the UNIC Supervisory Board and Partner at Arzinger.

Speakers at the event include representatives of the international organisation the OECD, senior officials from the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP), the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, the State Property Fund of Ukraine, the VKURSI big data platform, as well as heads of compliance departments at state-owned companies — Ukroboronprom, Ukrenergo, AOZ/DOT, Ukrzaliznytsia, Prozorro and Medzakupivli of Ukraine.
