According to the report, the Ukraine-EU Association Council confirmed that the future of Ukraine and its citizens stay in the EU. It gave a positive assessment of the reforms’ progress in Ukraine, particularly in combating corruption, fighting fraud, money laundering, etc., and the rule of law.
Thus, promoting the issue of combating corruption in Ukraine, it is worth noting the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of the Anti-Corruption Strategy, which will be in effect until 2025, as well as the adoption of the State Anti-Corruption Program, which establishes clear performance indicators for each government body for the implementation of this strategy, in particular, in the issue the level of corruption tolerance in the private economic sector and the implementation of anti-corruption standards in the private economic sector. UNIC is ready to actively participate in developing relevant standards and projects of normative legal acts to promote an integrity culture in the private economic sector. The development of such standards is important with the participation of professional organizations and leading practitioners. We want close cooperation with the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP) in developing such standards.
UNIC welcomes such significant progress in adapting Ukrainian legislation to EU law and hopes for the earliest possible implementation of all European integration measures on the way to the approaching stage of negotiations on Ukraine's membership in the Union.
