There is significantly a need of the public to be aware about business integrity and positive changes in the prevention of corruption in the private sector.

This year, UNIC has conducted its first survey among public representatives "Business Integrity: Achievements and Opportunities" within the framework of the project "Strengthening the Principles of Integrity in the Interaction between the State and Business" implemented with the support of UNDP Ukraine and the Kingdom of Denmark.

Please find below the key outcomes:

  • 33% of respondents believe that corruption is typical of small and medium businesses
  • The main sources for the dissemination of corruption in business is the word of mouth
  • More than 80% rather and fully agree with the idea of the importance of reputation and integrity of companies at least in a declarative way
  • Only 12% of respondents know companies which have a code of corporate ethics; 22% of respondents know companies in which the policy on charitable donations and sponsorship is publicly available; only 10% of respondents know companies that distribute their financial results
