ROAD MAP of Transformations for Transparent Reconstruction of Ukraine
Ukraine's recovery must be a total transformation, not just a return to pre-war conditions. This transformation involves deep modernization of production technologies and infrastructure, systemic improvement of institutions, and changes in a corporate culture based on integrity and transparency.
Ukrainian businesses cannot wait for the great reconstruction of Ukraine after the Victory. To serve its customers and society, it must use all possible resources to rebuild now where it is needed. The understanding of integrity for Ukrainian businesses during the war has expanded from compliance with laws and policies to the category of the internal corporate culture. For companies during the war, the issues of trust, uniting efforts, and supporting each other have become the cornerstone of fighting the enemy and balancing in times of uncertainty.
To effectively rebuild Ukraine and attract investment, it is necessary to ensure the rule of law and equal game rules for all market players, eradicate corruption in all its forms, have a fair judicial system, access to public information, and have a partnership and transparent cooperation between the state and business. Proactive work is needed to spread the integrity culture and introduce compliance in the private and public sectors.
These are the conclusions reached by the UNIC Business Integrity Month 2023 members - Ukrainian business and government representatives, international organizations, and donors.
