Head of the UNIC Secretariat participated in the International Conference on Ukraine's Recovery in London
On June 20, Head of the UNIC Secretariat Antonina Prudko participated in the panel discussion "Rebuilding a New Ukraine: How to Ensure Sustainable Recovery,» held as part of the International Conference on Ukraine's Recovery in London, organized by Chatham House.
The event brought together representatives of government agencies, civil society, charitable organizations, and private sector companies from Ukraine and other countries to discuss approaches to recovery and concrete mechanisms for the sustainable, inclusive, and transparent reconstruction of Ukraine.
"It is now clear to all stakeholders of the reconstruction that Ukraine's recovery must be a transformation, not just a return to the pre-war situation," emphasized Antonina Prudko.
In her opinion, this transformation involves a deep modernization of not only production technologies and infrastructure but also systemic improvement of institutions and changes in a corporate culture based on integrity practices and management transparency. This change in values is another dimension of Ukraine's victory and will affect every aspect of the economy and society.
"We can definitely say that in the current conditions in Ukraine, businesses cannot wait for a big rebuilding after the Victory. In order to fulfill its responsibilities to customers and society, it must now use all available resources to carry out ongoing reconstruction where necessary. In general, the war has changed the way business thinks about its purpose, and making a profit has lost its primary importance, as the company's integrity has become the top priority, which is to support the people, the community, help the army and address social, environmental and other issues," summarized Antonina Prudko.
UNIC is grateful to the organizers for the invitation, trust, and opportunity to share our experience and discuss important strategic issues of our country's reformation with experts at such a high-level event.
