On 2 August, with the support of the Ukrainian Network of Integrity and Compliance (UNIC), Naftogaz Group held a training for compliance officers.

The event was aimed at improving the professional knowledge and skills of the participants in the practical aspects of conducting internal investigations and functioning of reporting channels. In addition, the participants discussed the implementation of the REMIT regulation at Naftogaz Group.

The speakers of the training were Inna Tkachenko from Naftogaz and Volodymyr Stetsenko from Baker McKenzie.

Naftogaz Group was one of the first state-owned companies to introduce a compliance function. Our partnership with UNIC is part of the strategy to build a transparent and efficient business without corruption,’ said Yevhen Kalinin, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

For his part, Glib Bakalov, Chairman of the UNIC Executive Committee, noted that the results of the corporate reform have shown that state-owned companies, if they have sustainable corporate governance, can also meet high ethical standards of doing business: ‘This primarily concerns large strategic state-owned companies, such as Naftogaz of Ukraine. I am confident that this event will have a positive impact on the development of compliance in the company.’

This is the second event organised by the UNIC together with the Compliance Office of Naftogaz as part of the implementation of the partnership Memorandum for the company's personnel and its separate divisions. The previous seminar on identifying and resolving conflicts of interest was held online in April this year and brought together more than 90 representatives of the company's management. We believe that these trainings will be important steps in strengthening the compliance culture of our partner Naftogaz of Ukraine.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the speakers for their thorough and expert presentations and to the participants for their active participation and genuine interest in the topic.
