On September 23, 2024, the OECD  held consultations with representatives of public and international organizations and businesses, organized by UNIC, within the framework of the preparation of a report and recommendations for inclusion in the OECD Review on integrity and the fight against corruption in the area of ​​integrity in the private sector.

The meeting was attended by members of UNIC, business representatives of various levels, public, professional, and international partner organizations, in particular the Council of the Business Ombudsman of Ukraine (RBO), CIPE, the European Business Association, and members of the RISE Ukraine coalition.

During the event, the challenges faced by the private sector of Ukraine in war conditions were discussed, and participants analyzed what changes the war caused in corporate practices. Particular attention was paid to programs implemented by the government aimed at supporting integrity in business. It was discussed which measures are effective, and where there are still gaps that need improvement.

Additionally, the company representatives shared their experience of observing honest practices in their work and overcoming challenges related to security and changes in management risks. The business representatives had the opportunity to talk about specific examples of interaction with the government and what initiatives can improve transparency and reduce the risks of corruption. In addition, participants discussed implementing an internal control program to manage integrity and compliance processes.

The participants had the opportunity to express their ideas and proposals, which will help quickly form new approaches to increase integrity in business environments in Ukraine. The results of the discussion will be used to prepare a report and important recommendations for the OECD Review on integrity in Ukraine.
