UNIC is seeking a Legal Adviser to support the project on reforming the liability of legal persons

The Ukrainian Network of Integrity and Compliance (UNIC) announces the selection of a Legal Adviser to provide expert and advocacy support for UNIC's GR activities in the area of reforming the liability of legal persons. This initiative aims to align Ukraine's legal framework with OECD standards and best international practices in this field and is implemented as part of the project “Business Integrity as a Foundation for Sound Recovery.”

Cooperation with the Legal Adviser will cover three areas:

1. Legal support and advocacy for draft laws on the criminal liability of legal persons for corruption offenses.

2. Development and advocacy of the concept for introducing the institute of independent monitors.

3. Implementation of updated legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participating in discussions with key stakeholders (NACP, NABU, SAPO, relevant VRU committees, etc.) and public events.

• Analyzing legislative initiatives and preparing amendment proposals, public positions of the Network, legal commentaries, and analytical materials.

• Engaging in outreach activities, including preparing materials for media.

• Developing training materials and participating in educational events on the criminal liability of legal persons for corruption offenses.

Selection Criteria for the Legal Adviser:

• Officially registered legal entity providing legal/consulting services.

• Adherence to integrity principles in business practices.

• The company and its affiliates must not have conflicts of interest, including representing clients subject to criminal measures for corruption offenses.

• At least 5 years of experience in criminal law, anti-corruption, compliance, and business integrity.

• Inclusion in Chambers and Partners or Legal 500 rankings.

• A highly qualified project team with experience in similar projects (detailed requirements for the team are provided separately).
