The Compliance Club for Officers of State Companies on the UNIC Platform Resumes Work
On October 30, the first meeting of the Club of Compliance Officers of State Companies (SC) took place, bringing together representatives from enterprises to discuss key issues related to developing compliance standards in Ukraine and exploring prospects for joint efforts to build an anti-corruption culture in the public sector.
With the revival of the club that UNIC had established before the full-scale invasion, we aim to create an informal and efficient platform for networking and sharing experiences among public companies. From now on, compliance officers from state-owned companies undergoing corporatization can also join the Club.
The event aimed to familiarize state companies compliance officers who may participate in future Club meetings and jointly discuss objectives and activity plans.
During the meeting, a panel discussion focused on the practical aspects of ISO 37001 "Anti-Corruption Management Systems" certification, including the motivation of state-owned companies to pursue it and how certification helps protect against corruption risks. Representatives of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" and SE "Medical Procurement of Ukraine" shared their practical experiences. Additionally, a representative from the Active Audit Agency—one of the firms providing ISO 37001 certification support in Ukraine—outlined the certification process, stages, and challenges.
Participants at the inaugural meeting also engaged in small-group sessions led by experienced facilitator Nina Gaevska, where they developed ideas and proposals that will help shape the Club’s future plans.
At UNIC, we are dedicated to ensuring that platforms like the Officers' Compliance Club serve as valuable resources for promoting transparency, ethical management, and effective compliance systems within SCs.
