UNIC members shared their compliance culture

On September 6, an open educational meeting took place on the initiative of the Ukrainian Network of Integrity and Compliance. The British Council in Ukraine and Mott McDonald as UNIC members shared compliance practices in their companies..

Simon Williams, Director of the British Council in Ukraine, shared experience of introducing standards of integrity in line with public and private sector requirements in the UK and the EU. He shared the details of the structure and principles of the compliance culture within the British Council, and based on the example of the Anti-Fraud and Corruption Policies’ implementation, he demonstrated the benefits of doing business ethically.

Tetiana Chekhet, Regional Representative of Mott McDonald, shared ideas of standardization and building a reliable risk management system in the company.

On May 19, the Business Ombudsman Council, with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development presented the launch of the Ukrainian Network of Integrity and Compliance. This is a new initiative for businesses that want to work transparently. The purpose of this network is to promote the idea of doing business ethically and responsibly. 

At this time, 46 Ukrainian and international companies have signed the pledge of integrity. Acceptance of applications for joining the network continues until September 22.
