# Happy Independence Day, Ukraine!
By [UNIC Team](https://unic.org.ua/en/blog/author/unic-team) , Aug 24, 2023
Today, we commemorate our Independence, a day that signifies our resilience and unwavering spirit. From the tiniest villages to our bustling cities, we've collectively navigated the path of resistance against aggressors with dignity and an unshakable belief in our strength and future.
Through centuries of perseverance and growth, we've forged our own statehood, reclaimed our language and culture, and solidified our bonds with other nations. We take immense pride in our identity and hold in our hearts the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for our Freedom.
Today, we stand united in our shared mission: to triumph over the occupier and rebuild the Ukraine of our aspirations. Let Independence Day serve as a constant reminder of the profound responsibility we hold in shaping a nation that honours the dreams of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
With resolute faith in our Free Ukraine!
